Hi, I’m Suzy Escobar, an online business strategist, digital marketing consultant, and community builder based in the Netherlands.
I’ve spent over 20 years working in international business, across corporate strategy, sales and marketing, in multiple countries and industries, I’ve sat in boardrooms, led teams, built brands, and generated millions in revenue.
From the outside, everything looked like success, but I wanted something different, more freedom, more ownership, a life I could design on my own terms.
So I made a decision that changed everything, I walked away from my corporate career to pursue a dream, to study abroad and build something of my own.
I completed a Master’s degree in Business Economics and Marketing at Ghent University in 2021, and soon after, I launched my first online business, that’s how Digital Authority Lab was born, a digital marketing agency focused on supporting entrepreneurs in the Netherlands.
And then I became an expat.
Moving to the Netherlands, I discovered something that no amount of corporate experience had prepared me for: the challenge of building a business in a new country, without a local network, without credibility in a new market, without the shortcuts that come from years of local presence.
I had the skills. I had the experience. But I had to rebuild my visibility, my positioning, my audience from scratch.
That experience changed how I work with my clients. Because I understand, from personal experience, what it takes to build something real as an expat entrepreneur. And I know the specific challenges that come with it: the imposter syndrome amplified by displacement, the difficulty of positioning yourself in a market that doesn't know your name, the isolation that comes with starting again.

When I started working with entrepreneurs, I noticed a pattern: the women who faced the steepest climb were expats. They were capable, qualified, motivated — and still struggling. Not because they lacked talent, but because they lacked a strategy that accounted for their specific reality.
A generic business coach can't help you navigate what it means to build credibility in a country where no one knows your name. I can. Because I've been there.
That's why everything I do is designed specifically for expat women entrepreneurs. The methodology, the messaging, the systems — all of it is built around the reality of building a business away from home.

I founded The Expat Women NL — a community of expat women entrepreneurs in the Netherlands who are building businesses, supporting each other and navigating the complexity of entrepreneurship in a new country.
